Ed Nordskog is one of the most decorated arson investigators in the world with four internationally recognized awards, and over 100 other commendations or medals for arson investigations. He is currently a Cold Case investigator for Arson Murders and Fire Deaths, and a consultant for prosecutors and other attorneys for any Major Arson Case. He is the founder for the Serial and Wildland Arson Investigation Training group based in Reno, Nevada. He is an internationally recognized expert and instructor on Serial Arson, and Fire Death Investigations.
Recently retired as a full time Arson/Bomb Investigator with Los Angeles Sheriff’s, since 1997. Investigated 2,100 arson cases and arrested/prosecuted 300 persons for arson related offenses. Testified as an expert in fire/arson on over 110 cases. Involved in over 70 fatal fire investigations and 60 serial arson investigations.
Conducted “render safe” operations to over 580 suspected hazardous devices (bombs).
1986-97 worked as a sheriff deputy in custody, patrol, and as a detective in burglary, robbery, assaults, fraud/major crimes, and as an undercover detective in narcotics. Conducted over 5,000 criminal investigations of every type.
