About me
Joe Kenda served with the Colorado Springs Police Department from March 1973 to September 1996, spending the vast majority of his career investigating homicide cases. He was responsible for 387 homicide investigations and solved 356 of them by arrest and conviction, resulting in a 92% clearance rate—well above the national average of approximately 50–60%. Of the 31 unsolved cases, three have since been resolved through advances in DNA technology.
Over the course of his career, Joe served as a detective, detective sergeant, detective lieutenant, and ultimately as commander of the Major Crimes Unit. He is the author of four books and is a New York Times bestselling author.
Joe lives with his wife of 58 years in Virginia. They have two adult children.
