Mike King is an internationally recognized criminal investigator, and author with more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence, and public safety technology. He began his career as a street cop in Ogden, Utah, eventually rising to Chief of Staff at the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Trained by FBI profilers, Mike served as co-chair of the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) and created UTAP, the Utah Criminal Tracking and Analysis Project. He served as a founding board member of the Cold Case Foundation.
After retiring from law enforcement, Mike became the global Director of Emergency Communications and Fraud Solutions at Esri, leading worldwide strategies for public safety, followed by a year long contract at Dataminr working with the deep, dark and surface web intelligence. He consults with public safety for Bent Ear Solutions in Arlington, Virginia.
Mike is the creator of Profiling Evil, a YouTube and podcast platform with over 225,000 subscribers and 22 million downloads. His newest podcast Gardens of Evil: Inside the Zion Society Cult was just handpicked by Apple for the best new show worldwide. Mike is a frequent law enforcement expert on CourtTV, Dr. Phil, NewsNation, and The History Channel, and has appeared in global media around the world.
He is the author of several acclaimed titles, including Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing. Other works include: Deceived, She Knew No Fear, Predators, Analyzing Criminal Behavior, and Who Killed King Tut?. Mike holds a master’s degree in criminal justice and has taught profiling and victimology at universities. He was a visiting scholar at Boston College and a contributor at the Harvard Medical School Program in Psychiatry and the Law.
