Previously, Zirinsky served as president and senior executive producer of CBS News, becoming the first woman to hold the role. Before leading the news division, Zirinsky was senior executive producer of the award-winning 48 Hours, turning it into the first network magazine show focused on true crime.
Zirinsky has earned virtually every major broadcast journalism honor since beginning her career at CBS News in 1972. She has covered a range of historical stories, from Summits in Moscow, the Gulf War, the war in Panama to the student uprising in Tiananmen Square, the White House for 12 years to the 9/11 attacks.
